On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Rizal Law (RA 1425), historian Ambeth R. Ocampo delivers a Lighthouse Learning lecture that asks the question: after seventy years of mandated teaching, what are we really learning about José Rizal? Participants are invited to reflect on how Rizal has been presented, interpreted, and reimagined across generations. How should Rizal be understood, remembered, and engaged in classrooms today? This lecture culminates in a guided, small-group visit to the Rizal Room of the Rizal Library, the Special Collections, and selected Rizaliana from the University Archives, offering a rare opportunity to encounter Rizal through primary sources and archival materials.
